This year’s Top Schools Trials took place in Paarl. Stellenbosch Schools featured prominently, with many of our teams going through to the Western Cape Top Schools at the end of August. This year’s League is kicking off on 4 August 2018, with the planned first weekend’s games moved on one week later. Stellenbosch Chess Club are happy to report they will be fielding 5 teams in this year’s League. Read more at CWP League Page

Who knew Bloemfontein in the wintertime would be perfect for playing chess? Alexander van der Merwe from Stellenbosch surely heated things up for his opponents, ending up in the 18th position in the A Section. Well done! Full results: A Section , B Section , C Section and Blitz
