Rhenish Primary School held their annual schools invitational tournament this past weekend with nearly 200 participants. As in the past, this was a great way to introduce new players to a chess tournament. Congratulations to all the age group winners.

The first round of the Cape Winelands Schools Trials took place in Wellington on Saturday 3 March 2018. At the Central Trials in Paarl, Paul Roos Gymnasium’s U/15s ended up in the top 5 positions. Philip Coetzee (Gold), Dawid Nieuwoudt (Silver) and Antonie Steenkamp (Bronze), are also in the same class at Paul Roos Gymnasium. Reegan Rass and Andrew Stevens made up the quintet.
