This year’s Top Schools Trials took place in Paarl.
Stellenbosch Schools featured prominently, with many of our teams going through to the Western Cape Top Schools at the end of August.

This year’s League is kicking off on 4 August 2018, with the planned first weekend’s games moved on one week later.
Stellenbosch Chess Club are happy to report they will be fielding 5 teams in this year’s League.

Andrew Flores-Bartoli recently took part in the Commonwealth Chess Championships in India.
This years Grassy Park Tournament saw a Parents Section in addition to the more “regular” sections. Hopefully fun was had by all!
Congratulations also to Alexander van der Merwe from Stellenbosch who came second in the A Section.
